Stop. Really.

I don't care if gas is in excess of $4 a gallon in the USA. Maybe it's the only way to get the God damn consumer to do a double-take. Make them stop and realize "Hey, energy prices are going up." They noticed that. They noticed that, then they thought "That's a bummer for me." ME.

ME. ME. ME.

So they keep buying it. And then they turn to the big boys in the government and they say "You're making us pay more money, you assholes! We want to live our normal wasteful, excessive, disgusting lifestyle, and you're making it hard!" So instead of tweaking the excess, they then bitch, and yell, and scream because they want the prices lower. When they get what they demand, they can in turn, can waste more, and pollute more, and continue to not give a shit about the world around them.
